Our private tour of this plantation came to its end in the basement where our guide opened up to my questions about ghosts. One of the stories she told was of a tourist that upon entering the basement experienced a sadness from many years earlier. This feeling seemed to be coming from the rear corner of the basement and was centered around a dying family member who was probably part of the plantations servant staff. I ask her if she minded if I took some pictures around the location and began to focus on the area I wanted to photograph. The digital camera I was using was my smaller Nikon Coolpix 950, which is capable of taking many pictures on a single charge. Yet after changing out my batteries to finish taking pictures upstairs my "fresh" batteries were now dead too. Out of two sets of completely charged batteries I had taken a total of 15 pictures.
